About
Vision for All Signs Point 2 God:
I want to share how God is in all things and how he is not just something to believe in but is someone who is an active participant in the world and in everyone’s life as is stated by Colossians 1:16-17
About me
Hello. I’m Dewaine Cooper. And the beautiful, most wonderful and awesome lady (brownie points) in the above picture is my wife of 3 years, Bridgett.
My Story
I was born in the early 1980’s, and became the younger of two sons to the greatest parents that have ever lived. I was always in church. During the old-fashioned revivals, I was there with my parents every night; no exceptions. And for those who’ve experienced those services know that they are forever long. The longest running revival I attended was three weeks straight.
My dad also toured with two different southern gospel singing groups: The Singing Couriers from Bennettsville, SC and The Singing Dease Family from Georgetown, SC. During the ’90’s, I think I visited almost every church in the state of South Carolina.
No matter what though, my home church was always the Bonneau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Sure, we attended a couple others, but BPHC was my “home”. I knew the place and I knew the people. It will forever be etched into my being. In fact, it is where I asked God to forgive me in June 2000, and where God impressed upon me to become a pastor in July 2002.
I graduated high school in May 2000, attended Francis Marion University for two semesters, but found my way to the College of Charleston where I received my first bachelors degree in Computer Science in 2004. I subsequently enrolled in the SC Conference of the IPHC School of Ministry where I earned another bachelors in Theology from Advantage College in 2008.
On my own, I’ve been a member of three churches: BPHC (2000-2006), Restoration Ministries (2006-2009), and Life-Givers Ministries (2009-?). Bridgett and I recently joined Life-Givers Ministries in September 2009 to be the youth pastors of the Beyond Youth Ministry.
The Future
I’m a pastor, and that’s what I want to do. And not be a pastor that just works at a church, but serves God through my position. I want to help people. I love doing it, and it makes me feel good knowing that I’m doing good works like God wants and states in the Bible.
To state it, I want to be a lead/senior pastor. I love being a youth pastor. I get to feed off of the energy of teenagers, but being a lead pastor is one of my life goals. I know I can do a lot of good, and I want to show people the real Jesus; the One that loves and is compassionate about people, and the One who is passionate about illustrating the forgiveness of God in hopes that people will see that they need God.
